The Minneapolis Marriott City Center is located at 30 South 7th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55402
Location & Transportation
Airport: MSP Minneapolis- St. Paul International Airport (13 miles from the Minneapolis Marriott City Center)
Transportation from the Airport to the Minneapolis Marriott City Center
Taxi or Ride Share generally takes 15 - 20 minutes depending on traffic and costs $30 - 50 one way
Travel by Metro Transit Light Rail generally takes about 40 minutes and costs up to $5 one way
Take the Blue Line from Terminal 1 / Lindbergh to the Nicollet Mall top, then walk about 4 minutes (.2 miles) to the Marriott City Center
Trains depart every 15 minutes
If you are traveling by car or renting a vehicle, the Minneapolis Marriott City Center charges a daily rate of $26 or valet is available $45. Learn more on their website, or view the hotel’s parking guide.
Minneapolis Marriott City Center
Most attendees will enter at street level. If you are entering at Skyway level, follow signs in the skyway to the Marriott.
Take the elevator to the 5th floor for the Hotel Lobby and Reception desk.
GCOS activities will take place on the 4th floor with Sunday and Monday poster sessions and receptions taking place on the 6th floor.
GCOS Registration is on the 4th floor and will be open daily Sunday - Tuesday from 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM (note if you are staying at the Marriott, you should check into your hotel room on the 5th floor). Pre-Registration will be available on the 5th floor of the Marriott only on Saturday, September 21 from 3:30 - 6:30 PM.
Congress Dinner
All GCOS attendees are invited to attend the Congress Dinner on Monday, September 23, 2024 at 6:30 PM CT. Entertainment, dinner and drinks are included in the cost to attend.
Attendance requires a separate registration. See the FAQs for how to register. Space is limited. Guests are welcome to attend the Congress Dinner.
AS OF 9/17/2024 THE CONGRESS DINNER IS SOLD OUT. Other group dining options will be available onsite in the form of “dine arounds” where you can sign up for dinner on your own in small groups with fellow GCOS attendees.
Contact gcos@umn.edu to be added to the waitlist in case of cancellations.

What does dinner include?
Dinner includes a salad, an entrée, and a dessert with drink service. The dinner location will be within walking distance of the Minneapolis Marriott City Center.I have dietary needs or food allergies. Can you accommodate me?
Yes. We will work with you and the caterer to ensure your needs are met before the event.May I bring a guest?
Registered GCOS attendees may bring a guest at the Congress Dinner registration rate.Can I drive myself?

Registration
Registration is Now Open
Registration includes access to all sessions for the day(s) of registration, exhibitors, meals, access to session recordings after the event. There is no online participation option.
Advance registration must be made by Monday, September 16, 2024 at 11:59 PM CT. Those registering after this deadline may not receive course materials, etc.

Be sure to add on Sunday, September 22’s Research Symposium with Nursing Sessions.
Details
GCOS will take place at the Minneapolis Marriott City Center. A room block will also be available at the Marriott. Event registration is a multi-step process:
Register for the Congress Dinner, scheduled for the evening of Monday, September 23. (optional)

Payments: Payments must be made by credit card through the CE Portal. The accrediting team does not accept paper registrations, cash, or check payments.
Hotel stay: Book under the group rate for check-in as early as Saturday, September 21, 2024 and to stay as late as Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Your last day to book under the group rate is September 6, 2024. The group rate is $229 USD per night plus taxes and fees and is not included in your GCOS registration.
On site registration: On-site registration will be allowed as space permits. All on-site registrants must use their own device to submit their registration and payment by credit card via CE Portal (cash/check not accepted).
Special needs, such as dietary restrictions, lactation room, etc., should be requested in advance. These requests cannot always be honored on site.
Cancellation Policy: In the event you need to cancel your registration, the registration fee, less a $100 administrative fee, will be refunded if you notify us by August 31, 2024. No refunds will be made after this date.
UMN Office of Continuing Professional Development (OCPD) and/or our partner in providing the activity reserves the right to cancel any activity due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event the activity is canceled, registration fees will be refunded. UMN OCPD and/or our partner in providing the activity is not responsible for any travel-related costs, charges, or expenses, including but not limited to fees assessed by airline, travel, or lodging agencies.
Scholarships: Students who may need financial support to register for the conference may contact the team at gcos@umn.edu to submit your inquiry for support. These will be reviewed and awarded on a case by case basis.
